What is Saline Tattoo Removal?
It is a safe form of tattoo removal that involves tattooing a sterile saline based solution into the skin to push the pigment/ink back to the surface of the skin, effectively lightening the tattoo.
The benefits of this form of removal compared to laser removal is that saline removal is less painful, and does not damage the hair follicles. Saline tattoo removal can remove all pigment colors, whereas certain lasers cannot.
We proudly use Li-FT, which is made in a licensed, inspected and highly credentialed lab in the USA. It is the only saline lightening solution to combine the power of TWO fruit seed extracts...orange seed and lemon seed. The other secret to this solution is the type of salts used...unique and exclusive to only Li-FT.
Most commonly, you will require anywhere from 2-5 sessions, depending on the type of pigment used and how your skin holds pigment.
Cost per session: $150
(# of sessions to be determined at consult)
Please email us a photo of the permanent makeup or tattoo you want removed to natalia @ studionbeauty.com for a quote if you are not able to come for an in-person complimentary consult.
F.A.Q. about Saline Tattoo Removal
How exactly does saline tattoo removal work? How does it work compared to laser tattoo removal?
Saline tattoo removal works by tattooing a sterile saline solution into the area with pigment to be removed. The saline solution then works through osmosis to draw the undesired pigment to the surface of the skin. As the skin forms a scab through the healing process, pigment is pushed out from the surface of skin and falls off with the scab.
What are the major differences between saline vs laser tattoo removal?
How long does 1 session take?
Typically anywhere from 1-1.5h depending on the area to be treated.
Is there any downtime after?
The treated area will be VERY red for about 1-2 days. Afterwards, heavy scabbing is encouraged by keeping the area dry, no aftercare creams are to be used.
Does saline tattoo removal work on all types of tattoos?
Yes, we can safely use it to remove both cosmetic and body tattoos on anywhere of the body.
How long do I have to wait after a tattoo to receive saline removal?
Tattoo must be at least 6 weeks old (fully healed).
